Web Hosting Options

Web hosting is a service that allows organizations and individuals to publish a website or web page on the Internet. A web host, or web hosting service provider, is a company that provides the technologies and services necessary for the website or web page to be viewed on the Internet. Websites are hosted, or stored, on special computers called servers. To access a website, users simply need to type the website's address or domain name into their web browser. The user's computer will then connect to the server and the website will be delivered to them through the browser.

  • Shared hosting is a cost-effective solution for hosting your website, but it has its limitations. With shared hosting, multiple websites share the same server resources, such as RAM and CPU. This can lead to slower performance during times of high traffic and can negatively impact your website's user experience. Shared hosting plans are also limited in the number of concurrent connections they can handle, and may not be suitable for hosting cloud apps.
  • Managed WordPress hosting is a specialized hosting platform optimized for WordPress sites. It includes basic hosting administration tasks, such as installing WordPress, daily backups, and updates to the WordPress core. Managed WordPress hosting plans can handle higher levels of traffic than shared hosting, but come at a higher monthly price. They may also have restrictions on the use of certain plugins.
  • A virtual private server (VPS) is a good option for medium-sized businesses. With a VPS, each website is isolated from the others, giving you more control over your server resources. VPS hosting plans offer a balance between shared and dedicated hosting, and are ideal for websites that need more control but don't require a dedicated server. VPS plans are available at a similar price to shared hosting, but may have a one-time setup fee for installing the necessary server software.
  • Dedicated hosting is a more expensive option that involves renting an entire physical server. It is generally recommended only for larger corporations or websites with very specific needs. In most cases, it is more cost-effective to purchase and set up a server in-house rather than using dedicated hosting.

For most businesses we think shared hosting or a VPN is best cost efficient option.
